Churches & History

  • Stiftskirche St. Michael – Romanesque pillar basilica from 1036 with magnificent Rococo elements, a crypt, intricately carved choir stalls and three organs. Take a guided tour or explore this historic gem on your own.
  • Parish Church of St. Stephen – Historic church right next to your apartment. Its origins trace back to the 8th century, making it one of the oldest churches dedicated to St. Stephen in the area. The present building dates from 1623–1625.
  • Schlossmuseum Home to Switzerland’s oldest printing press. The 11th-century tower, the first dated Swiss printed book, a local history museum with period furniture, folk art and much more await you.

  • Haus zum Dolder – Private collection featuring Baroque craftsmanship, medical history exhibits and religious folk art.
  • Kunst und Kultur im Landessender Beromünster – The former national radio transmitter has been transformed into a vibrant arts centre with changing exhibitions, artist studios and installations.

  • Forest Cathedral in Schlössliwäldli – A magical tree cathedral – a natural dome of towering trees, ideal for meditative and peaceful walks.
  • Beromünster Radioweg – A fascinating cultural path exploring the history of Swiss radio with open-air exhibits and audio stations.
  • Hiking Trails & Energy Spots – Scenic routes through gorges, forests and meadows (Schlifitobel, Erlosen, Chegelwald) offering lovely views over Lake Sempach and the Alps.
  • Badi Bachheim A beautiful natural swimming pool surrounded by nature, featuring a large pool, children’s paddling area, spacious lawn and beach volleyball court – perfect for family-friendly summer days.
  • Only 10 minutes by car: Lake Sempych (Sempachersee) with its popular lakeside beach and swimming facilities.


Practical Information for Your Stay

  • Parking:
    Free parking with the parking permit (Zone D). You will find the parking card and a map of the designated parking spots in the apartment.
  • Shopping & Daily Needs:
    Charming confiserie/bakery, Coop and Migros supermarkets, an excellent cheese shop, pharmacy, great restaurants and all everyday essentials are within easy walking distance.
  • Public Transport:
    Direct buses to Lucerne, Sursee and Lake Sempach stop just around the corner.
  • Excursions to Lucerne:
    The beautiful old town, the famous Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke), Lake Lucerne with Mount Rigi and Pilatus are all quickly and easily reachable.
